I've had the great joy of having lived in a place where you could literally "flip a coin" and within an hour you could be out on the plains or deep in the forest. You could flip another coin and go watch bison roamng freely or wild horses grazing on the summer grass. If you opted for the forest, a coin toss decided if you wanted to move deep into the forest or pause and spend your day next to a forest pond. Nice to have so many options. Your photographs bring back many memories. Thanks.

Both wonderful shots, and both are places I enjoy walking in summer. I think I prefer the forest though.
It is a season of bounties and a time to slow down a bit!
I agree with you both. MitchyLR, although the forest walk is to be preferred, the prairie does have its own kind of beauty too.
There is something special about the smell of the forest :)
I like your summer and the photos are fantastic shots...
Living on Buffalo Ridge I know the beauty of the prairie, although I was raised in the woods, both beautiful in their own way love both pictures
Two lovely summer shots

Thanks for your comments Pat and Tim. Tim, I'd love to have that choice that you once did. Glad it brought back pleasant memories for you.
