Egyptian
President promises to rebuild churches
The
world has been filled with one discouraging news report after another regarding
the radicalization of Muslims in the Middle East and around the globe. Although

promise to Christians; nonetheless one hopes that the following news item is a
small beginning of improving relations between non-radical Muslims and
Christians, and that it will inspire more religious freedom for minority
Christians and Jews in Egypt as well as in other Muslim majority nations. –Dim Lamp

Pope Tawadros II during the Orthodox Church’s Christmas Eve mass on 6 January,
al-Sisi declared: “Please accept our apologies for what happened … God willing
… by next year there won’t be a single house or church that is not restored. We
have taken too long to fix and renovate [churches] that were burned. This year
everything will be fixed.” Read the whole thing here.
